Years ago, October 2003 to be exact, I started to get interested in the webcam of SNSK. Several times a day I opened up the page to have a look on what was happening in the harbour of Longyearbyen. Soon I was wondering what I was missing when I did not look at the harbour. So I decided I wanted to download those missing webcam pictures. So I wrote up a little script that uses wget to download the picture every half an hour.
I also wrote a script that made a new html page to show these pictures gathered by day. I never stopped the download script and right now I've got about 96611 pictures (2009-06-07).
I also use these pages to test/improve my programming skills.
